The history of wooden jigsaw puzzles
The wooden jigsaw puzzles originated in England more than two centuries ago. Created in 1760 with the aim of teaching geography in school, the puzzle marked a new stage in its development in 1780, with the advent of the first jigsaw puzzle reproducing various subjects. Hard to find nowadays, english engravings have been for a long time the only subjects of wooden jigsaw puzzles.
